Days Inn Petoskey

Two hours after we arrived, the front desk called twice to say someone had complained about our dog's barking. Our dog was not barking. There had been a barking dog in the hallway when we first came in, along with kids running around. Later, kids were screaming and running up and down the hall past 9 pm, while parents partied in the pool room with the door open. This carried on past 11, even though the pool was supposed to close then. I called the front desk to complain. Staff eventually told the people to quiet down, but gave them my room number and said I was the one who complained. The room was dated and not very clean, with water damage on the bathroom door and a broken phone, though I could live with that. We had booked two rooms for a Petoskey event, and my daughter's well-behaved dog came too. I will never stay at this Days Inn or any other Days Inn again, and I don't recommend the Petoskey one.

The only drawback was the snowy weather: the front driveway is a steep, slippery hill during a storm, though the back entrance is easier to use then. Otherwise, the hotel is nice, clean, a little older but well cared for, and the staff are wonderful. The pool area is well maintained, and the hot tub is a welcome break after a cold day on the slopes. A complimentary limo can take you almost anywhere in town, with very little wait, and the driver is kind and personable.

The hot breakfast spread was fantastic, and our rooms were comfortable, clean, and just right. The linens and towels felt soft and fabulous. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping and cafeteria staff was warm and nice, with great service. Days Inn at Petoskey exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend it!

The front desk employee was very kind when we checked in around dinner time Monday Evening. But our double queen room didn't look like the listing, which made it seem larger. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the bathroom was tiny. We checked the pool and hot tub and saw teal-colored pieces that looked like they came from the ceiling on the ground, clumps of dirt in the hot tub, and little white pieces floating in it. The pool water looked quite green. If you just want an inexpensive motel, this might suit you. We paid around $115 for one night.
