Inn of Rosslyn

We were very satisfied with our stay in D.C. The room was clean, the location was great, and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t catch the name of the gentleman at the desk last night, 4-3-15, but he was very nice. It was our first time in D.C., and we’d come back if we return. The one drawback was construction right behind the hotel. It started at 7am and was loud, which wasn’t great after we got in close to 1am on a Friday. Luckily, the construction workers weren’t working Saturday, so we got some much needed sleep.

This is a welcoming, clean place that’s good value for travelers, and I’d stay again. It’s only a few minutes’ drive from Lincoln memorial. The room had two queen beds and a nice TV, and the bathroom was very clean. The water ran well, though the room was super hot and it was hard to find empty outlets. Victor at the front desk was awesome. It’s not a new place or a luxury hotel, so don’t book it expecting luxury, but otherwise it’s worth the money.

Victor, the night manager, was the only good thing about this place. There was no heat in our room when it was 16 outside. He brought us a space heater, but the room still dropped 10 degrees overnight. The bathroom was so cold we put hand towels on the toilet to keep our rear ends from freezing. The tile floor and air were freezing too, so we decided not to shower. We checked out and found another hotel, then asked for a refund. The daytime manager refused. I wouldn’t let my dogs stay here.

A good spot for a minimalist traveler who doesn’t mind an older style room. The location is excellent, close to 2 metros, lots of restaurants, and sights. The room was very clean, the fridge was good, and the beds were firm but comfortable. The hot water and shower pressure were excellent. I wish the TV were high def, and that there were a microwave in the room or one available to rent.
