Reagan Airport Apartments

The reservation mix-up made checkout a mess. The day before, I’d noticed the app showed the wrong dates and room number, and that the hotel had tried to charge my card again. The front desk explained that another guest with the same last name and first initial was staying there, and our reservations had been mixed up. I asked them to fix it and remove my information from the other guest’s stay. The agent said it was corrected, but at checkout they asked why I was leaving a day early. I wasn’t. They’d only switched the names, and the folio still had the wrong dates, amount, room rate, and address. I had to get to the airport, so the agent said they’d email a corrected folio later. The one I received was still completely wrong. The room itself wasn’t renovated, despite the hotel supposedly undergoing renovations. It looked outdated and dirty, with peeling wallpaper, burn marks on the tables, and thin walls that let me hear the neighbors’ whole conversation word for word. About an hour after my 7 p.m. check-in, housekeeping knocked to ask if the room was ready and repeatedly asked whether I had enough towels. It felt strange. Shouldn’t they check that before letting a guest into the room? Avoid this one and stay at the Crystal Gateway Marriott next door. It was a much better experience.

My employer and I have been trying for weeks to get a payment issue resolved with this hotel, but they keep refusing to help. We’ve filled out and signed the documents twice, and still no work has been done. Whenever I call, they put me on hold and don’t follow through, even after telling both of us they would help. Staff have repeatedly assured us the request is possible, and it isn’t difficult. This is unacceptable. I’ll update my review once it’s resolved. I really can’t believe this level of what feels like intentional ineptitude.

The restaurant was a highlight on our second stay. The new à la carte breakfast was delicious, with a freshly made omelette, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. It was much better than the buffet we had on our last visit in August. Hamid and Azeb, our servers from last time, were friendly, attentive, and professional. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the complimentary bottled water and free Wi-Fi were appreciated. Tee at the front desk was pleasant, polite, welcoming, and helpful, and made check-in smooth. The reception area and hotel are beautifully designed, with a warm, elegant feel. The location is convenient, near shopping centers and restaurants and just minutes from Reagan National Airport. We had a wonderful stay again. I highly recommend the Westin Crystal City to anyone visiting the area.

The parking itself was seamless, and I found a space right away in the covered garage. I booked through SpotHero and left my car for almost a week. It cost significantly less than parking directly at DCA, and the airport was a very short shuttle or Uber ride away. The lobby is under construction at the moment, so it’s a little messy and confusing to navigate on foot. I’ll definitely use this lot again.
