Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Asheville - Outlet Mall

After arriving past midnight for a work trip, I checked in and finally fell asleep a few hours later. At 8 a.m. staff tried to get into my room even though the deadbolt and latch were engaged, then called several times and mumbled something on the phone. When I went downstairs to ask what was going on, they gave me a vague explanation about needing to confirm who was in the room because their system had a problem. Was all that really necessary? I travel a lot for work, and being woken up like that was awful. I’d tell anyone looking for a hotel near the outlet area to choose somewhere else. Country Inn and Suites is garbage.

The room was a 10/10, and the price was very reasonable. Everything was extremely clean, with a spacious bathroom, a nice closet, and furniture and decor that made the room feel well supplied. The bathroom had everything I needed, and the door handles and latches all worked properly. No complaints.

We needed somewhere close to the outlets, and this worked perfectly for a great price. The rooms were clean, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful. Parking felt a bit tight because so many service trucks from the crews staying there were taking up space, but the price was unbeatable for what we needed.

After a 10-hour drive, I arrived at Country Inn & Suites, Asheville with a confirmed reservation and was told the hotel was sold out. They said my booking had been canceled without cause. The front desk and manager handed me a cancellation paper and told me to call customer service, but customer service said they couldn't help. Nobody made an effort to find me another place or fix the problem. I own a business hotel myself, and I'm shocked there were no basic walk-in procedures or hospitality. This is an unprofessional way to run a business. If you want a guaranteed bed, I strongly advise booking elsewhere.
