Courtyard by Marriott Asheville Airport

The front desk representative made a real effort to welcome us and carefully wrote down our concerns for the general manager. She was honest about the situation without blaming anyone, and handled it with empathy and professionalism. Without her care, we wouldn’t have stayed. Renovation work was intense and shaped the visit from the start. There were noticeable eyesores, drilling began around 8 a.m., and the lobby felt cold without holiday decor or seasonal warmth. We hadn't been told in advance that work would continue through Q1. The pool heater wasn't working and the café was closed, which limited the amenities. There is extra covered garage parking, which was convenient and appreciated. Several restaurants are within walking distance if you're willing to brave the winter weather. The stay missed the mark, though we might return in the distant future once renovations are fully finished.

The hotel seemed pretty clean, and our room was clean and quiet, even though a room two doors away had noise blasting out of it. Staff were very friendly. There’s a nice outdoor seating area, though no fireplace. Because of construction, containers and equipment were taking up parking space, so arriving late was a little difficult.

The bistro staff were great and tried to help with the breakfast package that had been misrepresented as part of our lodging. The morning front desk woman was snobby and didn't understand our issue. She said a manager would call, but I'm not sure she even passed along the message.

The king room was bigger than I'm used to, and the front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. The airport is almost within walking distance, but the planes weren't noisy. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.
