The room was ready nicely when I arrived, and the price was reasonable. Having the front desk sell water for $1 felt like a little NYC gem, lol. I liked the big TV, microwave, and fridge. I did spot a few hairs on the bathroom floor and in the shower, so I wasn’t sure how well it had been cleaned. It didn’t look distinctly dirty, and hair can be hard to remove, so I didn’t mind too much. I only noticed because I was staring at it.
The room was the highlight for me, comfortable and good quality, easily a 4-star part of the stay. Service and location were dependable too, about what I’d expect from a 3-star visit. It made for a pleasant, reliable stay overall.
I’ve been trying for over a week to complain to the hotel, but I keep getting put on hold or hung up on. I booked a last-minute stay through booking.com on February 15, 2026, at Regal Inn & Suites New York LaGuardia Hotel in Flushing, Queens. Booking confirmation: 18112008897104860272. PIN: 484561. Knowing how traffic and parking are in Flushing, I chose a hotel that listed parking. When I arrived, I called the desk and was told the lot was closed, but they’d open it for me for an extra $30. The booking page mentioned parking but no fee. I was annoyed, but agreed. I gave the clerk my location and cross streets, then was told to take the main street and turn left. Traffic was exceptionally bad, and circling the block took about 30 minutes. The clerk couldn’t give me the lot’s address or cross streets, only kept saying “the main st,” which is a one-way street. There’s a Main St about three blocks away, but that made no sense. A few times he said he’d come outside and wave to open the lot, but I still had no address and his directions were unclear and useless. How could he not know the address or even the street where he worked? He couldn’t give me a coherent location and was extremely incompetent and rude. I tried several times to cancel during the conversation, but he said he couldn’t. I also tried Booking.com, but it was an international number and I couldn’t find a local one. After about 45 minutes to an hour of frustration, I somehow found street parking. At the desk, the clerk yelled at me, and I had to tell him several times to watch his tone. I checked in, but the TV didn’t work. When I called the desk yet again, they said it did. I was done with their incompetence. About an hour later, I saw bloodstains on the sheets. I was thoroughly disgusted and checked out immediately.
There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and it’s an Asian community. The rooms were really nice, with the beds on opposite sides of the room. Parking is $5 in the garage, but you have to check in first so they can open it. The elevator was broken, so we used the apartment elevators next door. It was literally right next door, so that wasn’t bad.
The water was freezing on New Year’s Eve in NYC, when it was 20 degrees. The elevator didn’t work, so we had to enter through the building’s back staircase. We’d been assured there would be 24/7 front desk receptionists, but we got locked out, along with an employee, in the 20-degree weather. Nobody answered my calls. We left after one night because the place was so bad. I had proof of our attempts to call and our complaints, but management still charged me for the three nights we didn’t stay. At first they agreed to refund me, then refused when it came time to actually issue it. They’d given me the fake name of a manager, Marco, then said there was no manager by that name. They denied my claims despite my proof. It took until January 4th to get a partial reimbursement. I couldn’t retrieve my belongings because staff got very hostile when I asked for a refund. I work nights, and management didn’t like me coming back from work at 9 am, before checkout, to collect my things and leave. Parking is bad, too, and the area is insanely busy and crowded. SCAM! Do not book. Avoid this place at all costs.
