Holiday Inn Asheville - Biltmore West

The breakfast isn't free, though kids eat free with a paying adult, and we got plenty of food for the price. The breakfast staff were amazing, and one went the extra mile to make my son a special dish that made his day. The hotel also has a restaurant, though we didn't try it this time, and Zaxby's and McDonald's are within walking distance for a quick bite. Our kids liked the pool, which was a good size for hanging out, and the free laundry machines worked well. Our room was spacious and quiet, with plenty of outlets and room for our things. The lobby atmosphere was lovely, and the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful when we made an unexpected stop in Asheville. We'd definitely stay again.

I went downstairs for a snack, and the sundry shop could use more microwave meal options. Jenna remembered that I didn't have a microwave in my room and directed me to the one near the dining area. She knows this huge hotel well and really seems to care. She's phenomenal, and should be getting top pay, or you're all criminals. Lol. When she checked me in, she was warm, friendly, and great to talk with. She also knew a lot about the hotel's history and its change from the former Ramada Inn. The lobby is enormous and inviting, and the whole place is well kept, updated, but still rustic. My room was immaculate and smelled clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable, and I liked that it was a full-service hotel. A great place to relax, and one I'd recommend to my traveling family.

This was a great stop during our road trip. The rooms had plenty of outlets and USB ports, nice touches in the furnishings like the hall tree, very soft sheets, and comfortable beds. It looked like there had been a recent renovation. Water pressure was good, and the room, lobby, and other shared areas were clean. Everyone on staff we met was pleasant and helpful. We didn't use the pool, but it looked really nice and like a good option for families with kids. Breakfast cost extra, though there was free coffee.

The pool sits right in the middle of the lobby, so chlorine smell is what hits you when you walk in. Since the hotel is very pet-friendly, our room had a wet dog smell too. It's on a busy road without a dedicated stoplight, which makes turning left unpleasant. On the plus side, it's a nice little hotel, the food was enjoyable, and it's about 10 minutes from downtown.
