National Park Inn

After hours of hiking, we loved unwinding in the lovely fireplace lounge. The rooms were clean and cozy, and dinner was delicious, though a little pricey. Dee, our server, knew the menu well and was helpful, and the rest of the staff were just as sweet. We were warned about a young bear nearby and told what to do if we encountered it. Thankfully, we never saw it. Having no wifi turned out to be a nice way to enjoy the nature around us.

January at National Park Inn in Longmire, Mt Rainier, Wa was really beautiful. La Niña meant milder snowfall, so getting there was easy, but there was still lots of snow for hiking. The park entrance is only 10-20 minutes away, and it’s easy to drive down to the restaurants and other businesses at the foot of the mountain. It was rainy and cold, but still felt romantic and family friendly. A weekend here is a nice way to get away from life's stress. Cell signal is POOOR without their wifi. 💪🏼

We ate dinner here twice while visiting the park and were impressed both times by the food and the waitstaff. Dee waited on us the first night and was especially attentive and helpful. The Waygu burger was great, and the sausage soup was incredible. Don’t skip the blackberry cobbler!

The views are spectacular, and you can head out hiking right from your room. The restaurant service was great, though prices are a little high since you’re in the park. Rooms are small but clean. There’s no elevator, and nobody to carry luggage up or down three flights of stairs, so pack light. Parking isn’t reserved, and we watched cars circle the lot for over an hour. Arrive VERY early or after 7pm if you need a spot. An outside table is worth trying for a snack, drink, or lunch, the view is amazing.
