Ashland Inn

There were bed bugs in our bed, and the front desk wouldn't move us to another room. They said there'd be no refund and that we could check out if we didn't like it. How is this place allowed to operate? It should be shut down and condemned. I'll be contacting the health department.

At $1,000 a month for a one-bed room, or $250 a week, you'd at least hope for the basics. There's no hot water, and the place has rats and bedbugs. They do provide clean bedding, though apparently it has bedbugs too. You can get toilet paper if you need it, and have mail sent there. It's fairly quiet unless you're near the people who fight and swear all night. Stay at your own risk.

The people were incredibly friendly. The room had a dirty condom under the bed, though. Aside from that, it was great.

The staff were friendly, professional, and nice to deal with. My room, though, was pretty gross. The mini fridge and TV looked clean and new, but the stained carpet and bedding and grimy-looking chairs were off-putting. The shower didn't work, there was no toilet paper, the HVAC unit looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and one bulb kept flickering. The door used a regular key with no deadbolt, so it didn't feel very secure. It works if spending as little as possible is the priority, but I should've paid a little more and stayed somewhere better.
