Relax Inn

The room looked clean, and the staff were nice, but a strong musty, moldy odor made me feel sick. My sinuses got very congested, and breathing was unpleasant. The owner said all the rooms smelled that way because of the hurricane weather. They need to clean the rooms thoroughly and remove and replace the carpet. I can guarantee there’s probably mold under it.

I’ve been here about two months, and the caring family running the place have been wonderful. It’s clean and relaxing, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for that, no pun intended.

For what I paid, I got a good deal and had a good stay. Claxton Inn is a solid two-star motel, and I’d recommend it over the other places in the area. The beds were comfortable, and the older TV, AC, fridge, and microwave all worked fine. The bathroom could use paint, but I had no major complaints. I’d stay again if needed and recommend it to relatives visiting as we move to the area.

The place smells terrible, like mold, and there’s mold on the door. Towels are stained and don’t dry you off; the bed is uncomfortable, stained, and has cigarette burns in the sheets. There are stains on the wall too. I wouldn’t even give this one star, but the site requires one to write a review. Avoid this place!
