Rodeway Inn Hotel Greensboro

I paid through Hotel.com after a small deposit online and the balance at arrival. By the time I checked in, the money had already gone to the hotel, so if I'd inspected the room first and disliked it, I wouldn't have been able to get a refund. I understand why they have a no-refund policy, but buyers should be aware. The room had dirty floors, dingy washcloths, a loose headboard with holes in it, a loose toilet that flushed like a tornado, and an odd quarter-sofa that seemed out of place. I had booked three days for Aggie homecoming, but there was no room service, even when I asked. On the second day I asked the cleaning crew to come, and they sent me to the front desk; the desk said the crew needed to be notified. I don't speak Spanish, and it didn't seem to matter to them that the room hadn't been cleaned. The lobby was clean, the refrigerator worked, and the AC was great. Those are the only things I'd give credit for. Low prices don't excuse the poor quality, even when the hotel is nearly full for Aggie Weekend. It gets one star from me for the fridge and AC.

The receptionist was rude when we told her about bugs in the room and stains on the sheets. We couldn't get a refund, and I'll report the problem to corporate. My family tried to explain the issue calmly, but the staff were unprofessional and ruined a good weekend. Please check your sheets, floors, and bathroom. We saw baby roaches and spots we thought were from bed bugs. I don't recommend staying here, and I wouldn't come back.

The price might look tempting, but I found ashes in the bed and roaches in the room. The staff were mostly just doing what they were told, but the manager was the rudest “manager” I’ve ever dealt with. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Pay more for a better room if you can. If you stay, inspect it within 15 minutes or you won’t get a refund. LOL.

After about 10 minutes in the room, I’d counted seven live roaches. I checked the mattress too, and the underside was absolutely infested with bed bugs. The first thing I saw when I opened the door had been a dead roach on the table. When I reported it, the front desk said nothing could be done, not even a room change, and refused a refund. Check-in had already been a 20-minute argument because the clerk wouldn’t accept my temporary paper ID from the DMV as valid while I waited for my license card in the mail. Horrible experience. I don’t care how cheap it is, don’t stay here.
