Cedarwood Inn of Ashland

I stayed two nights for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and left some jewelry in my room. When I called the manager, he said it hadn’t been found. He suggested I make a claim through my homeowners insurance. My suggestion is that management return guests’ belongings and avoid higher insurance costs. Running an honest establishment has immeasurable benefits. The place needs major security upgrades, and I don’t recommend it. The management’s friendly veneer seems as fake as the veneer over the rotted floors.

We stayed here for quite a while while looking for a rental after my partner had just become a firefighter. The weekly and monthly deals were really good. Our room was roomy, cozy, and exceptionally clean, with two beds, a two-burner stove, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and board, and a big smart TV you can screenshare to. They’re pet friendly, too. Breakfast had a nice little selection: waffles, boiled eggs, bagels, and yogurt. Any free breakfast is a plus to me. There’s an outdoor pool, indoor pool, sauna rooms, and spacious on-site laundry for a decent price. I’d seen some older reviews mention cockroaches, but we didn’t see a single one, and we stayed more than a week. It’s family owned, and if nobody’s at the front desk, there’s a bell to ring. Be patient and understanding, they usually come pretty quickly. The front desk was extremely accommodating and on top of things. The only issue was weak Wi-Fi at the far back of the building, but they fixed it right away when we mentioned it. So really, no cons during our stay.

For the price and location, I was quite pleased and would stay again. It’s a couple of miles down the road from downtown Ashland and the theaters, so getting there doesn’t take long. The rooms were clean and larger than most, and I liked the shower with two heads and the large spa. There’s an outdoor pool too. Breakfast was okay, though hard-boiled egg was the only protein option.

The pool, grounds, and flower beds were beautiful, and breakfast stayed stocked for hungry travelers, with seating inside and on the patio. I booked at the last minute at Cedarwood Inn with two kids, and they unexpectedly upgraded us to a double king suite. The room was big, beautiful, and modernized, with lots of space for all of us. I loved watching the Oregon sunset through the huge picture window. We never used the giant TV or couch, there’s too much natural splendor in Oregon. We really appreciated the staff’s effort. 10/10, would recommend.
