Glynn House Inn

My girlfriend and I spent a weekend at the Glynn House Inn and had such a memorable time. Glenn and his family, two-legged and four-legged, made us feel cared for, and the owners’ personal service and attention to detail were heartwarming. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious, and our room was welcoming and comfortable. The inn is lovingly maintained and has the feel of another era. We’re already looking forward to coming back soon.

We loved our two nights in the Coolidge room, one of the rooms named after presidents. It had a queen-size four-poster bed, two high-back chairs, bedside tables with lamps, and a gas stove that kept us warm. The bathroom was lovely and clean, with plenty of hot water. Glenn was a big part of what made the stay so delightful. He served a hot, delicious, filling breakfast and visited with guests in the dining room, even with 16 people there one morning. After breakfast, the canine greeting team came by to say hello. Glenn and his staff are wonderful ambassadors for the area. We met Glenn when we arrived early and planned to wait in the driveway for the 15-20 minutes until our room was ready. The housekeepers were running behind, so he suggested a quick drive around the area. We saw Ashland's lovely Squam River Bridge, with its wooden roadway and pedestrian path, then drove around Little Squam Lake, a 408-acre lake northeast of Ashland. By the time we got back, housekeeping had finished and we could go in. I did have one issue with the room. I use a CPAP, but there wasn't an outlet I could reach. The extension cord for the light had only two prongs, while my machine needs three, so I improvised a fix. A power strip would be an easy solution.

Glenn, the innkeeper, was kind and gave us useful suggestions for things to do nearby. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious, too. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Eisenhower room, which was very nicely kept and had a jetted tub and smart TV.

My wife and I spent a couple of nights at the Glynn House Inn, and it was just what we wanted for a little escape together. We don’t travel out of state much, but we like to get away, recharge, and keep the spark going. The owners were welcoming and kind, and their two Dalmatians were shy but friendly. We drove there through a winter storm. They tried to contact me, but my mailbox was full, my fault. When we arrived, they explained they were rearranging our accommodations to make the rooms safer and easier to reach. This has become one of our favorite places for quality time together. We have a few places we enjoy, but I’d highly recommend spending a couple nights here. It’s easier to just take my recommendation than for me to say everything about it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
