Stratford Inn

We stayed five nights in early May 2026, and the mountain-view room on the third floor was a good choice. It had plenty of drawers and closet space, a bright feel from all the windows, and a handy counter for the coffee maker and microwave. The refrigerator had a separate freezer, and we used both. The mattress, sheets, and towels were very good; the shower had an updated head and strong pressure. The toilet and flooring were updated too, with no carpet, though the bathroom sink and vanity looked dated but worked. I liked the Beekman 1802 bath products, which I use at home. No safes, but the internet worked without problems, and the staff were always cheerful and nice. The Stratford is an older hotel, but it’s been updated where it counts, and the rates are very good. The included breakfast was fine, with good coffee in a light room, though after three days of oatmeal and toast we walked to Morning Glory Cafe instead. The theaters and restaurants are walkable, but not right next door, so we often drove and parked closer. In early May there was always plenty of free street parking. I’d recommend staying here.

We had a clean room with two comfortable queen beds and pillows for three people and our dog. The staff were friendly, and the free breakfast had bagels, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, coffee, and tea. It’s about an easy ten-minute walk to downtown Ashland’s shops and restaurants, with Safeway right across the street. There’s a designated dog area with poop bags provided, and the pool stays open from 6 am to 1 am. A great affordable place near downtown.

I’ve been coming here on and off for 11 years, ever since my husband first brought me, and it never disappoints. The pool is heated and the hot tub feels amazing, even though tiles are missing from both. Rooms are clean, nicely set up, and smell good. Great staff and food too, and the hotel is quiet.

A simple, sweet place to stay. Breakfast was yogurt and toast, just right, and the coffee was surprisingly good for a hotel. The hot tub is small but adequate, and we enjoyed the poop room. Everyone at the front desk and the breakfast lady were kind and helpful. I’d come back.
