Hotel Eastin Riverwalk

The room was shocking. We went back for a refund less than ten seconds after entering, and somehow got charged twice for the whole stay. Earlier, they tried to charge us $79 a night even though the online price said $69. The place was dirty, smelly, and the employees were rude. We started looking for a room across the street at Quality Inn as soon as we arrived. Sleeping in the car would have been better. Don't be fooled by a cheap rate or a five-star review. I'd rate this -5/5. This place should be shut down.

I booked a few days ahead, parked a mile away at the e-charger, and walked to the hotel, only to be told there were no rooms. They locked the door and told me to leave, then didn't answer the phone. I'm very confused. I'd give fewer stars if I could.

June 22, 2025. The room was a dirty dive, and I took 20 photos. The air conditioning couldn't make it comfortable until 3:00 a.m. This might be a $35 room at best, but staying in the car would be better. I wouldn't stay here. The price on Google Maps was listed as $56, but the clerk said $83. I showed him the listing, and he acted as if he didn't understand, repeating $83. He wouldn't meet me at $65 or offer any discount. At 1 a.m., needing sleep, I went ahead despite usually avoiding bait-and-switch businesses. When I reopened Google Maps to screenshot the price, it had changed to $60. Hmm. The good reviews are from seven years ago, this one is current.

We had four different rooms, and each opened door revealed worse conditions. The stench hit as soon as you walked in. Everything was dirty: stained sheets and small, golf-towel-sized bathroom towels. The comforter smelled awful. The headboards, makeshift nightstand shelf, and bathroom vanity were white-painted plywood. There were holes in the walls, and the doors looked as if they got kicked in every night. The room photos online don't reflect this property at all. The front desk attendant was very rude and basically yelled at us during check-in. We were there to officiate a College wrestling tournament at Benedictine. If you want to feel intimidated, this is the place for you. Make a reservation before the health department shuts it down!
