Super 8

We booked a queen and got a full-size bed, and the bathroom fan didn't work, so the room got really hot after a shower. The worst part was housekeeping coming straight into our room at 9 a.m. while we were still asleep. Checkout was at 11, which I had confirmed, but when I complained I got an angry-sounding apology, as if I were at fault. They said they can't tell whether a guest is inside unless someone answers after a knock. We never heard one. They should assume guests are still there until checkout. Coming in while people are in bed is unacceptable. The rate is good for a night or two, but this is a two-star hotel for a reason.

We arrived after midnight on March 2nd, tired and ready to sleep, so we didn't look around much. The lobby smelled nice, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and smelled good, and it was quiet, which was just what we needed. In the morning there was a nice complimentary breakfast. It looks like they're making improvements, including lighting and updates to the hotel. We'd recommend this Super 8 as a stopover for people passing through on their way elsewhere.

Easy to get in and out of, and the service was fine. It's right off the highway, with several other motels nearby, and this one was the cheapest. They seem to be doing some upgrades, but holes in the walls and other unfinished things are still there. Above the shower, there was a leak and black mold, and the room smelled damp and moldy. Fine for a quick overnight if you keep expectations low. You get what you pay for.

We picked this budget place for a night on the road with our dog, since traveling with a dog can limit hotel choices to either top-tier or budget places. I was hoping it would feel clean and safe, and was impressed: the property was clean, well kept, and fairly updated. The staff were helpful and courteous. It's not a five-star hotel, but for quality in the budget category, I'd give it five stars. I'd stay here again.
