Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Midtown

A quick update: Ryan at the hotel got in touch and clearly wanted to help. The issue was resolved, thank you, Ryan. Then another update: the hotel billed us for the credit they'd promised. Before that, we'd overpaid for parking. The desk said they'd fix it, but it never happened, and managers didn't return calls. Even Marriott corporate customer service couldn't get a response. We've been Gold Elite Bonvoy members for over 20 years, and this was the worst Marriott property we've stayed at. The guest service staff seemed unhappy in their jobs and got upset when we raised a problem. There seems to be something wrong with the leadership. There are many other options in Atlanta. Stay at a Hyatt or Hilton.

Element is the better choice here, and I highly recommend it. The hotel operates as a two-hotel setup: Element is for longer stays, while Courtyard is meant for overnight visits. The price is the same, and you don't have to stay long to choose Element unless you're after those deals. Courtyard sucks.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Five days after my stay, I was hit with extra charges. When I called the Midtown location, they told me to deal with my bank. Guest Service Supervisor Keaon Potts emailed me a copy of my checkout receipt, but my bank said it wasn't enough proof because the dates, amount, and invoice number didn't match. I've been trying to sort this out since the charge appeared in August. I'm posting this as a last resort to warn people about a hotel that charges you after your stay without explaining why.

I felt safe and looked after here, especially thanks to the security team. Tremaine Newsome checked on guests regularly and dealt with a noisy neighbor calmly and quickly. His clear, respectful communication made a stressful situation much easier. I'd stay again.
