Oakwood At Skyhouse South

I’m new to the city and found this place online, but nowhere did it say leasing visits are by appointment only. When my family and I arrived, the leasing office door was locked, though two employees were sitting around chatting with a resident. We stood there confused, and the staff chuckled at me. When a resident came in, I followed. A Black woman in her mid-thirties, who had made eye contact with me at the door, walked into the office. I asked if I could get some information about leasing since I couldn’t get in. She answered firmly, “YEA NOBODY CAN JUST WALK IN!!” and said she was busy, then told me to sit in the lobby. I also saw a bald Black man behind the desk making small talk with a resident about how people can’t just “walk in.” I won’t live somewhere that treats a stranger this way. If future residents need an appointment to talk in person, advertise that clearly. The outside looks beautiful, but the staff need more one-on-one training in how to interact with people.

Alyssa made the self-guided tour really easy. I toured more than 10 places, and I want Skyhouse South to be my home! I love the pool and can’t wait to see the view at night.

Whittney’s patience and professionalism really stood out. I ran into a few snags while applying, and she took time to explain what was happening, try to sort things out, and point me toward the right next steps. I eventually decided not to move forward with this complex, but her help made a strong impression. Five stars for her effort.

Signal House is better for having Kirsten there. From the start, her genuine warmth and energy made it clear she cares. She’s one of the best concierge staff members I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting.
