SpringHill Suites by Marriott Atlanta Downtown

We paid $1,100 for two nights in Suite 720, Thursday to Saturday, during a weekend trip to the Aquarium. A friend recommended the hotel, and given the likely cheer competition that weekend, the rate was probably higher, but we expected much better quality and service for $500 a night. The location is convenient for the Aquarium, though the street noise is significant. What should have been a special family weekend was frustrating, and I wouldn't recommend the suite rooms. Desiree at check-in was kind and informative, and the valet staff were helpful and friendly. Most staff were polite, but our concerns were dismissed. We arrived with our toddler and luggage, and the room changes were especially difficult: after the AC failed again, we asked to move and were assigned Room 620, but the key didn't work. My husband went back to the desk while our 14-month-old and I waited in the hallway. Then we were moved again, to Room 1020. Nobody offered help or a luggage cart during any of the moves. The first room's AC started blowing hot air and wouldn't shut off soon after we arrived. Maintenance got it working temporarily, but the problem returned. The room also didn't feel clean for the price, with stained couches, unswept floors, and a chipped, dirty headboard. Its shower water was nearly scalding and wouldn't cool down, making it unsafe to bathe our baby. My husband had the same trouble the next morning, and the water pressure was very weak. I was told all rooms had weak pressure, but that wasn't true in our final room. Room 1020 at least had working AC, though it made a constant, loud, high-pitched metallic noise. We found a large stain on the bedsheet there, which made us question the cleanliness, but the shower was much better. Breakfast was listed for 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. At 6:40, there was no hot food and most of the lights were still off. The food and lights weren't ready until nearly 7:00. Housekeeping also knocked at 8:30 a.m. to ask about checkout, waking our daughter.

Breakfast is a highlight here, and the bar is pleasant whenever it happens to be open when I arrive. Parking each night costs more than I’d like, though I know the hotel doesn’t control that. The experience overall makes up for it, and this is still one of my top 5 hotels in Atlanta. I keep coming back to this SpringHill because the whole team is warm, from valet and the front desk to the bar, engineering, and housekeeping. Arrivals are easy too: valet is ready and check-in is quick. I can’t remember everyone’s name, but they all deserve credit. I’ve had many good stays here and would recommend trying it. Keep up the great work!

I travel often and have stayed at hotels around the country, but this SpringHill Suites has become my exclusive choice. That’s because of Mrs. Ruby White, whose leadership makes the place feel like a home away from home. Her staff reflects her professionalism, kindness, and care for the details, and guests feel valued and respected. Mrs. White is warm and poised from the moment you arrive. She’s courteous, charismatic, and attentive, and it’s clear she takes pride in the service culture she’s built. The breakfast is superb too, with quality, presentation, and consistency that exceed what I’d expect from a hotel in this category. She and her team treat it as part of their promise of comfort and care. I’ll only stay at this SpringHill Suites, and that choice comes directly from Mrs. Ruby White. She’s an asset to this hotel and to the Marriott brand as a whole.

The breakfast crew made mornings feel easy. Ms. Deb, Ms. V, Ms. Bertha, and Destiny kept the area clean, served fresh food, and made guests feel at home with their kindness. The property was clean, service was strong, and the staff clearly care. I’ll be back and will recommend this place. Check-in and checkout were smooth, welcoming, and professional. Rudy, Zamyah, Kisha, Mauriyah, and Desyrahe were friendly, efficient, and full of positive energy. At the bar, Sophia and Ashlee had great personalities, good drinks, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I didn’t use valet, but Jordan was respectful and welcoming. Dasani in security was attentive and professional, and helped the property feel safe and well managed while still being approachable. This whole team understands hospitality. Top-tier experience all around.
