The room itself had no smell, though the upstairs hallway smelled of smoke. The walls are a bit thin, but I only heard anyone when they spoke above a normal volume. For about $45 a night, the room is pretty clean, and there's nothing bad or horrendous about it. The windowsill could use dusting, and the place leaves you with a bit of a “meh” feeling. Still, yeah, I'd consider staying again.

Latoya made me feel especially welcome, and I appreciated her kindness and professionalism. The staff were very friendly and attentive, answered all my questions promptly, and the service made me want to extend my stay. The room was perfect, especially if you want to be near The University of Alabama. I'll definitely book at this Microtel by Wyndham location again. Thank you!

The hallway carpet was stained, which made me worry about our room, but the room smelled nice and was spotless. It was comfortable and clean, and the front desk was cheerful and helpful. I asked for another pillow and got it right away. We stopped here on a Friday night while travelling home, after staying at the Hampton Inn literally across the street on our way out of town. Breakfast was basic, but at 50% less than the Hampton, I'm fine with that. The coffee was hot and ready, which is mostly what matters to me. It was a pleasant surprise, and we'll stop again. Highly recommend.

We found this place at the last minute for the Alabama game, and it worked out well. The ride to and from the stadium was a quick 10 minutes and cost $10-20 by Uber. They had free snacks out for guests, online check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was included, though we slept in and didn't try it; we did see it was offered. They had some kind of technical issue when we arrived yesterday, but it didn't cause us any trouble, and we were checked in within five minutes. Good experience overall. I'd recommend it if you want to enjoy the area or go to an Alabama game and pay about half what nearby hotels cost.

I've never had a bad experience here, even though I travel for a living and stay at this location often. It's in a very safe area, with a well-lit parking lot, convenient access, and plenty of food places nearby. For a budget-friendly hotel, it's great. The rooms are clean, equipped, and comfortable for short or long stays. Don't listen to all the uppity people putting it down for not being something it isn't.
