SureStay Hotel by Best Western Tuscaloosa Southeast

Easy to reach from I-20, Cracker Barrel is right next door, the prices are low, and the staff are nice. But the hotel was very dirty. The bathroom was worst of all: I spilled water, wiped it up, and the towel came away black. There was ridiculous soap scum in the shower, the overhead light didn’t work so I showered in the dark, and the tissues were never refilled. The reception area was dirty the whole time I was there. The door windows were so grimy you could barely see through them, the same dirt streaks were on the floor for two days, and trash sat along the side of the building by the parking area. Housekeeping needs to be fired or at least taught how to clean. The free breakfast was laughable. They seemed to put out a set amount and never refill it. By 8 am there were just three slices of bread left, and it was the same at 9. The buffet had potatoes, flat eggs, sausage links, sausage gravy and biscuits, Fruit Loops, and bran cereal. No yogurt, oatmeal, bacon, or waffles. I didn’t try the coffee or juice, and I was afraid to eat anything because of how unclean the hotel was. I won’t stay again. Cleanliness is worth paying more elsewhere.

Our visit to SureStay this week was great. The staff were helpful from making the reservation through check-in and checkout. The room was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and it was extremely quiet despite being near the interstate. We really enjoyed staying here.

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, and SureStay pleasantly surprised me. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I slept so well I nearly missed checkout. The manager deserves a raise and a trophy. He was friendly, respectful, and on top of everything. When you ask him something, he makes sure you’re looked after, like family, instead of just pointing you somewhere. If he quit, the whole building might fall apart emotionally. Great room, great staff, and one of the smoothest, easiest stays I’ve had in a long time. You’re in good hands here. If you meet the manager, tell him he’s the GOAT.

Huey and Ben were amazing while I was staying there. I had to travel away from home for the holidays, and the kids said the lobby decorations still reminded them of home. With two TVs in the room, we could all watch different things. It was great value, and I’d definitely stay again.
