Travelodge by Wyndham Atlanta, Illinois

I had a comfortable stay and will use this hotel again when work brings me to the area. It’s very clean, the smart TV connected to my phone, and the Wi-Fi was strong. The remodel and rebrand came through well, and it was much better than the Travelodge-style places I’ve stayed in, even ones that claim to be remodeled but only seem to have had paint slapped on. Breakfast was continental, with one cereal brand, fruit, pastries, and juice boxes. At least they actually put out what they advertise, unlike some small roadside motels. I arrived at 4:30 in the morning, and although the desk was unattended, someone came to check me in within a minute of my call. Pre-check-in made things smooth, and after I requested a late checkout, nobody knocked or disturbed me.

There’s plenty of parking, and everything is on one floor, so no stairs. The rooms are large and clean, the beds are comfortable, and it was quiet. The staff were nice to deal with. It’s right off the interstate, near places to eat and a gas station, and breakfast is complimentary continental style.

The hot water and pressure were fantastic, possibly the best shower I’ve ever had, though that may just have been my room. The bedding and bathroom were very clean too.

I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels, and this was one of the cleanest. The Travelodge name shouldn’t put you off. It’s in a quiet town, easy to get to, and the staff are friendly. The sheets and towels were clean, and the TV had good channels. Nice place.
