Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Downtown

We’d consider staying here again because of the convenient downtown location, with lots of restaurants and attractions an easy walk away. We’re loyal Marriott guests, and the hotel handled the basics of a comfortable stay as expected. Nothing stood out as especially good or bad. Housekeeping is by request, which seems to be standard now, so guests have to call down for service. I only asked for fresh towels, but the staff proactively offered to clean the whole room. That attentiveness was a welcome touch.

I’m a limousine driver in my 60s, and I was treated in a humiliating way at the Courtyard by Marriott. I was professionally dressed and had to wait a long time for guests, so I asked to use the restroom. I’ve occasionally asked hotels before, and it usually hasn’t been an issue. Staff understand there aren’t public restrooms in Downtown and that drivers provide a service to their guests. I’m a woman, too. The front desk agent wouldn’t make an exception and insisted he needed a guest’s first and last name. This was an Uber black pickup, and I only had two first names. I repeatedly begged to use the restroom because it was an emergency, but he kept saying they don’t have public restrooms. At the time, there were two male staff, one female staff member, and me in the lobby. I told the guest I was picking up what happened, and they weren’t happy either. I’m quite sure the agent wouldn’t want someone treating his mother the way he treated me. I understand hotels don’t have public restrooms, but most know when to make an exception.

TJ at the front desk made our stay more enjoyable with restaurant suggestions and extra towels, and the service was great. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the hotel is conveniently located downtown. We had a great stay in Atlanta.

The hot shower, very comfortable bed, and super clean room made my weekend stay. I came down for the Saints vs Falcants game, and the downtown location was handy for stores, lounges, and restaurants. The front desk was great too. I loved the stay and will come back!
