After checking out, we realized we’d left something in the room. Shawn called and was so polite and helpful, and we got our property back in lightning time. The rooms are always clean and quiet, and the beach is an easy two-block walk. There are other amenities close by too. This was our fourth interaction here, and the service has been amazing every time. It’s our go-to beach getaway, period. Thanks again, Shawn!
We visited Atlantic Beach in winter with our dog and two-year-old, and spent two nights at Island Inn. The room was cute and roomy enough for a crib and dog bed, so we could all settle in comfortably. It was quiet, with only a few other guests around. The room and bathroom were clean, and we had no water issues. The beach is about a five-minute walk, handy for catching both sunrise and sunset. The winter rate was very reasonable, even with the dog fee. Nice stay, and I’d come back when visiting Atlantic Beach.
This was our second stay, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. It’s clean, close to stores and restaurants, and about 10 minutes from the beach and docks. Morehead fishing pier is around 10 minutes away, and Captain Stacey fishing charter is even closer. We had so much fun with the captain and his mates, who were great. The people who work here are friendly and make you feel at home, and you meet some great fellow guests too. If you’re after a simple, relaxing, no-drama getaway, come to Island inn. You won’t be disappointed. 😊
We come down several times a year to visit family in Newport, and after bad stays elsewhere, we’re glad we found this hidden gem. We can bring our fur baby without any issues. The rooms are clean and close to the beach, the staff are always friendly, and we meet some of the nicest people here. We love staying here and will be back on every trip.
We’ve usually stayed here because it’s clean, dog friendly, close to the beach, and near everything. This last visit was disappointing. Our room was on the back side of the motel, where the outside light was out, and I fell over the curb. Before dinner, my husband needed a shower, but the water was lukewarm at best, with no hot water. I called the office about both problems. They told me to let the water run, which I did for 20 minutes, but it never got hot. The light was still out when we left, so the next day we had to feel our way around in the dark and hope I wouldn’t fall again. It was never replaced. The bathroom fan didn’t work either. We probably won’t stay there again.
