The 43rd-floor room gave me a nice view of the city and beach, and the beds were soft and comfortable. I found the bathroom spacious and liked the toiletries. The hotel and its location were convenient, and I booked Bally’s through Hotel Tonight at a reasonable rate. Before the casino floor, the welcoming lobby has a Dunkin’ and gift shop beside the front desk. The room was well lit when I arrived, though the switches for some recessed lights were by the entrance door, so I had to ask the desk for help. I ate at Carlucci’s and had a cocktail at the Carousel Bar. The Detroit style pizza was great, and the drink was generously filled and delicious. I wanted to try Macau Kitchen, but the host put me off by saying the ramen dish was just package ramen noodles. I also hoped to go to The Yard, but it didn’t open until 8pm while I was there. The beachside location was great and close to the places I wanted to visit in town.

Please don’t stay in room 674 in the Dennis Tower. We still tried to make the best of the trip, but I was shocked by how poor the room and service were. This was one of my worst hotel experiences, even though the stay was complimentary. I still spend money gambling in the casino, so I expected at least a clean, working room. The refrigerator didn’t work, and we reported it as soon as we arrived after a two-hour drive. Then we spent over an hour waiting in the room because two staff members gave us completely different accounts of what was happening. Traveling with a 10-year-old made the wait even more difficult and uncomfortable. I went downstairs and spoke with a supervisor/manager named Joe. He was polite and sweet, but not very accommodating. Only after all that waiting did he say we could leave while someone came to fix it. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving our belongings unattended, so we stayed. I told Joe that almost all the outlets were dead, including the bathroom outlets. The maintenance worker, Phil, was the highlight. He was kind and professional and really tried to help us get the fridge working. When we showed him the other problems, he seemed shocked. I said, “Nothing in here works, what’s going on?” He apologized and said he wasn’t the electrician, but I appreciated his effort. The room’s condition and the lack of urgency from the front desk and service staff were the bigger issues. I’ve stayed in paid and complimentary rooms before, and this was by far the worst room experience I’ve had. I hope things are better if we return.

Room 381 looked nothing like the clean, updated, comfortable space shown in the online photos. At Bally’s Hotel and Casino, our stay was disappointing from beginning to end, and we won’t be back. I’d tell others to look elsewhere if they expect the quality shown in the ads. The room was poorly maintained and outdated. The bathroom light didn’t work, and one lamp was missing its power button. The shower head was visibly dirty, and there was dirt and buildup in the bathroom vent. Worst of all, we found a plastic knife and a Cheerio under the sheet. That made it clear the room hadn’t been properly cleaned before we arrived. The wall mirror looked as if it might fall, which felt unsafe. We booked expecting something comparable to the photos and description, but felt completely misled. Room 381 did not meet even basic expectations or the standard presented on the website.

The sheets and pillowcases had visible stains, and later that night we found a plastic knife and a Cheerio between them. When we asked for fresh sheets, staff said they’d been changed, but what we found made it clear the bedding hadn’t been properly changed. The shower walls had hair on them, there was rust under the rod, and the bathroom light flickered the whole time. Dust filled the vent, which didn’t move any air. Half the room’s lights didn’t have working switches, either. Our room at Bally’s Atlantic City looked nothing like the online photos. It felt old, poorly maintained, and unclean. For the price and reputation, this was far below basic cleanliness and upkeep. I wouldn’t recommend staying here based on our experience.

The view from our room was beautiful, and we appreciate all the help. Jackie Watson took great care of us. She’s wonderful, and if you need anything at the front desk, she’s the person to ask for. We had an amazing time and will be back soon.
