I hadn’t stayed at the Tropicana for years and was a little nervous, but wow, it turned out to be a great experience. The room in the North Tower was modern, quiet, and had a nice view. The casinos were clean, and there were great bartenders, restaurants, and shops. The whole place felt warm and welcoming, with nice people having a good time. From the moment we pulled up for valet and checked in, the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I had a blast, and I’m grateful to all the employees who were so kind and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

The noise from the neighboring room kicked off around 5am, with screaming, fighting, doors slamming, and people pounding on the walls. I called security, but nothing happened. I got maybe two hours of sleep total, and my refund request was rejected afterward. That felt disrespectful to paying customers who just want a comfortable stay. Before that, the room was already dirty, smelled of cigarettes and garbage, and had loud pounding or mechanical sounds coming through the vents all night. I’d booked two beds, but was told at check-in I’d need to pay another $50 for the room type I’d originally reserved. It also looked nothing like I expected. The elevators were awful: packed, unsettlingly loud, seemingly poorly maintained, and they felt unsafe. I waited 15-20 minutes again and again. What should’ve been a relaxing visit to Tropicana Atlantic City turned into one of my most stressful stays. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it to anyone.

I’m still waiting for the $100 security deposit taken from my card at check-in for my November 19, 2025 stay. It’s now been more than six months since I checked out, which is far beyond a reasonable time to release a deposit. There was no damage, incident, or unpaid charge, and I met all my obligations as a guest. Please return the full amount immediately and confirm when that’s done. If it has already been refunded, send written confirmation with the refund date and transaction reference number. If this stays unresolved, I’ll take it up with my card provider and the relevant consumer protection channels. I expect a response and resolution within 48 hours. Sincerely,
Jordan B.
We liked the food at Broadway Burger: it was tasty, served quickly, and the portions felt fair for the price. The rest of the stay left us regretting what we paid. We came to AC for a concert. The other mid-level places were booked, and my parents used to stay at this resort, so we chose it. The SW tower elevator kept failing. It held us up getting to the room and leaving the next morning, and when it broke down completely on the way to the concert, nobody told us what was going on. I’m glad neither my partner nor I has mobility issues, because a broken elevator is a serious safety concern. There wasn’t much staff around. Check-in was through a kiosk, which was okay, but I’d rather have spoken to someone. Even tracking down directions to the street was a project. Our room felt like a mid-level hotel room, only less clean and poorly lit. I’ve had better rooms at Hilton and Marriott locations. I wouldn’t recommend staying at Tropicana or pay my own money to return. I wish I could get a refund. If I could do it again, I’d book the Quality Inn down the street.

The room was a decent size and the HVAC worked well. We were there for a sports tournament, not the casino, so I can’t comment on that. Getting around was a hassle from the start. Half the express check-in kiosks were out of order, so I had to wait for the front desk to open. Then we waited about 20 minutes to get down from the parking garage to the hotel. The garage was awful, and despite being told hotel guests had In-and-Out privileges, we were charged twice. We paid extra for an upgraded room, but saw no upgrades: the tile was old, outlets were uncovered, and the room was generally run down. The elevators in our tower were mostly out of order, so trips up or down usually took at least 15 minutes. We kept people waiting because of it. A family traveling with us got a room on a non-smoking floor that smelled so strongly of smoke it made them sick. They tried calling the front desk but sat on hold for 20 minutes with no answer. The TV seemed about 15 years old, with very few channels that kept cutting out. That was less of an issue than the elevators, but still annoying. Nobody came to replace towels, empty the trash, or make the beds. I won’t stay here again. There are plenty of better hotels in the area at a similar price.
