We were a family of four with two teenagers, and the room setup worked well: two queen beds plus a sofa that converted into two separate twin beds. The hotel seems geared toward business travelers along the industrial corridor, and the pool is more suited to kids under 12. Over four days, breakfast was consistently good, with different egg, sausage, and starch options. The biscuits and gravy were good too. It's a relatively new hotel and everything was clean and maintained. My only small wishes were for hooks near the entrance for winter coats and a bathroom night light.

My husband and I have three children, and after nearly a year without a date night, he booked a nearby hotel for Valentine's Day weekend so we could rest and spend time together while still being close if needed. Kylie, the desk agent on the night of 2/13, made us uncomfortable by asking why we were staying. I've traveled all over the world and have high status with multiple airlines and hotels, and I've never been asked that at check-in. It felt like none of the hotel's business; we needed a place to sleep that night. I've stayed here before without trouble, but this has changed how I feel about Marriott hotels. I'll raise a complaint with higher levels when corporate opens Monday, and if I tell people I work with and keep choosing other chains, that's a big loss given how much I travel. Very inappropriate. Train her properly.

Joe was working the desk when we arrived around 7 PM and was extremely helpful. He quickly found us two non-feather pillows and an extra blanket. The hotel was clean, and our room with a king bed and sofa bed was huge. It was an excellent stay.

I'm staying here for business because the location suits my needs. It's behind a Culvers, and while it's not really a destination, Rochester and Lake are a quick trip away. Joe at the front desk was exceptional, which impressed me at this business class hotel in Lake Orion.
