For a stay of a few days, I think you'll like Candlewood Suites. It's clean, comfortable, fairly quiet, and convenient, and you can do laundry free if you bring your own Tide. This was my first extended stay hotel, and I liked it overall. One small annoyance was the full-size fridge freezer. When the compressor starts up at night, it makes a sound like someone slowly popping bubble wrap. Nothing is wrong with it, and it's easy to ignore in the daytime, but at night it seems louder. Earplugs are becoming essential for travel, and I keep forgetting mine. Also, hotel room designers, please make the curtains actually overlap enough to block the parking lot security lights. If the slider rods don't let the panels overlap, use one panel that covers the window opening by four inches on each side. I designed and sold custom window treatments 35 years ago, and this is a simple fix.

The handicapped suite was really comfortable, with a king bed, good air conditioning, calm decor, and a quiet room. The staff were great, and there was a nice sitting area in the lobby. We travel quite a bit for road trips, and this was one of the better hotels we've stayed in. I only wish you had a hot breakfast in a dining area. Thanks!

We had to switch rooms twice during our three nights. In the first, little German cockroaches scattered when we turned on the lights. The second was below a big, energetic dog that ran around off and on all night and kept waking us. In the third, the toilet only flushed if we took off the tank lid and coaxed it, and the shower water was barely lukewarm. The staff were great and did what they could, but these problems were beyond their control. This place is a disaster and needs to be fixed. And big dogs should be on the ground floor.

We paid $200 a night on a home weekend. The service was good, but room 201 had several roaches, dead and alive. They moved us to a much better room with no bugs, though there was a used towel left in the bathroom. At checkout, the manager, maybe the GM, apologized but only offered extra points. The recurring bug complaints in other reviews would keep me from staying again.

I was here for work over two weeks, and the second week was even worse than the first. The first room they assigned had a lot of mold on the ceiling and no hot water in the shower. The next room had a broken dishwasher, which maintenance did fix after I reported it, but the gym treadmill was still broken. The dishware was still pretty gross and the can opener didn't work. During the first week, the dishware was sticky and its coating was flaking off. I was looking forward to using the gym, but the treadmill stayed broken all week even after I told staff. When we left for the weekend, the elevator broke and we had to haul our luggage down the stairs. Staff helped with that, at least. Most of the staff were the only good part. One receptionist made for an uncomfortable exchange when I asked for more hand towels. She wanted me to bring back the used ones first, then asked me to put them in a bag. That was fine, but she seemed irritated and didn't give us as many clean towels as we'd returned. I'd rather sleep in my car than come back. 💜
