Jameson Inn-Auburn

I felt safe here, and it was quiet at night. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean with no smells, and the TV and Wi-Fi were good. I stayed while visiting my grandson for his first year at Auburn. It was the best price within 10 miles, since the campus prices were for doctors. Restaurants are close by, especially Ole Times Country Buffet across the road.

After working all night, I drove four hours to stay here, but couldn’t, because the manager canceled my reservation and gave the room away. I booked because it said I could pay at the property. I called when I was only a couple of hours away to say I was on my way and explain the situation, but they still gave my room to someone else.

The room looked good and clean, and the people were nice. My only issue was that I couldn’t get any work done because the internet didn’t reach my room at the far end of the hotel. They do have internet, just not where I was.

The beds were comfortable, and the front desk staff were very friendly. But the room had a strong stale smell when we checked in on Easter Sunday around 6pm. The man at the desk said each room had its own hot tub, though the tub didn’t even have a stopper. The AC was loud, but after running it for a while the smell improved. The shower curtain kept sliding open, so water splashed onto the floor. Caulk between the tub and floor was cracked, and water seeped under the floor. In the morning I saw a couple of roaches in the bathroom. The drink machine was sold out of everything, including water, which was marked .75 but cost $1.
