The staff were so friendly and helpful, I can’t say enough good things about them. The rooms are a bit run down and don’t look like the pictures, but everything was very clean and there were no bugs.

The front desk guys were the one bright spot. They were polite, quick to smile, and got us extra towels when we asked. I travel to small towns every other week, so I’ve stayed in worse places, including ones with bugs crawling around and ones where I slept in my car. This wasn’t that bad, but for $250 a night on a football weekend, I expected more, especially when the Holiday Inn was sold out at $700. It feels like football games are what keep this place going. Stays like this make me think more regulation is needed. In room 209, there was no smoke detector. The mattresses had stains under mattress covers, and the original hair dryer from when the building was put up about 30 years ago didn’t work. When we asked for one at the desk, they offered the one from an unoccupied room. The AC smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned in decades. The charging station looked newer, but stopped working in the middle of the night, leaving all our electronics dead. The shower was a gamble too. It took five minutes to get anything close to warm water. Fully hot gave cold water, fully cold gave lukewarm, and the middle setting was only warmish. Maybe the old valve or the plumbing was reversed. Two women having to take lukewarm showers and deal with wet hair before a football game at $250 a night? No thanks.

The rooms were nice. The ad says full breakfast, but it’s continental: juice, fruit, yogurt, bagels, and toast. The only hot option was waffles you make yourself.

The hallways had wires hanging out of the ceilings, and our smoke detector was coming off the wall. Inside the room, the ironing board was stained and dirty. The whole place smelled musty and didn’t feel clean, and it seems to be falling apart. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t stay again.
