Red Roof Inn Auburn

A flat tire left my husband, best friend, and me stranded on the way home, and we were towed to the TLE at Walmart. Red Roof Inn was across the parking lot, so we stayed the night. We didn’t have a block for one of our chargers, and the desk staff searched lost and found until they found us a charger. The next day Walmart couldn’t see us until 11, right at checkout. We explained what happened and asked if we could wait in the lobby. They kindly extended our stay until 2pm without charging us. We were already feeling down, and their help meant a lot. We really appreciated the stay and service.

It’s a nice place to stay and the rates are reasonable. I wish they offered a breakfast bar or something grab and go, instead of just coffee. Plastic cutlery would also be helpful for anyone eating microwavable food.

The room smelled nice and had been cleaned well, with hot water and good pressure. I did find a bedbug, though, and they moved me to another room. The young woman working that night was kind and attentive.

The room was very clean, but there wasn’t anywhere comfortable to sit. The room chair was uncomfortable, the lobby chairs were stacked in a corner, and there were no outdoor benches or chairs. There was no breakfast at all, only two vending machines. There’s no shared indoor or outdoor area. It seemed locals were placed on the ground floor at one end of the building, with trash and personal things piled outside the patio doors. I also saw people sitting in vehicles for hours.
