Baymont by Wyndham Augusta Riverwatch

Friendly staff, inviting clean rooms, and a delicious breakfast made this one of my favorite stays. I’ve traveled through 49 states and six countries, and I really enjoyed my time here. Great for a business trip or a personal stay. Highly recommend 😊

Alyssa was so kind yesterday, and I’d give her five stars on her own. The hotel itself needs work. In room 109, the sink stopper was broken and wouldn’t open properly, so the basin kept filling while I brushed my teeth and I had to stop and wait for it to drain. The sheets had stains, and the bathroom smelled. Breakfast was disappointing too. The fruit looked like it had been sitting out for ages, and although there were sausage, potatoes and eggs, they didn’t look good enough for us to risk eating. On the plus side, I paid by card and wasn’t charged a deposit. The hotel is also close to local hospitals, which could help if you have family staying there.

The staff at The Baymont on Riverwatch in Augusta, Ga. checked in on me, my service animals, and my daughter and baby every day. I felt like family, and I adore every one of them. I was there over Christmas while having my first grandbaby, and was stressed and running back and forth from MCG, so I was a chaotic mess. The front desk and housekeeping ladies were all kind and helpful. When I was late getting there to pay at checkout, they said I could just pay when I arrived, which took one more worry off my mind. I’ll definitely stay again and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you for such great service.

The rooms and beds are comfortable, and the front desk staff are great, but this stay was a real change from the pleasure I’d had here on my previous five October conference trips to Augusta. Breakfast was okay, though the juice machine has been broken on each of the last three years I’ve stayed. On arrival, I smelled strong weed from a man smoking around the side of the building, and again in the hallway. I told staff, and thankfully they took care of it. Then on the second night, a group of twenty-somethings caused a near-riot on my floor, running up and down the hall, shouting, banging on walls and each other’s doors, and opening fire extinguisher boxes. I called the front desk twice. They said there wasn’t much they could do because only one person was working overnight. I finally went into the hall and threatened a couple of them with bodily harm, and it went quiet for the rest of the night. This place seems to be going the way of many three-star hotels. Next year I’ll pay through the nose to stay at the Convention Center Marriot where my conference is held. Sad.
