Sonder — Zuni Studios

I went through the verification before traveling to Denver and sent a photo of my ID and face. When I arrived, there were no access codes, so I repeated the process and called Sonder. They said my ID was invalid because I’d renewed it. I offered to send a picture of my temporary real ID papers, but they wouldn’t accept those either and asked for a passport or government ID, even though I’d already provided one. I ended up staying somewhere else after reading reviews while on the phone with Airbnb support, and I’m glad we didn’t stay. What a blessing in disguise. Don’t come here. Book somewhere else.

When I got to the door, I found out my reservation had been canceled. I hadn’t received an email, and the booking company also thought it was still active. There was no way to know until I started checking in outside, and nobody was there to help. I’m staying in a hostel tonight. Check your email, but also verify your reservation beyond that, because checking with the booking company didn’t catch it either. There’s nowhere to sit except the concrete slab outside the front door. Find somewhere else. Don’t stay here.

We loved wandering around this pretty neighborhood, with little coffee shops close by. The aquarium and ball arena were both an easy walk, which was handy for our concert trip.

Restaurants, parks, and Union station were all within walking distance, and the modern, very clean space worked well for a couple or a solo traveler. We enjoyed staying at this contactless hotel and would be glad to try another Sonder property on a future visit.
