Hyatt Place Augusta

I checked out a day early to spend the last night of our trip with family, and the front desk said that was no problem. They emailed me a bill for two days, but when I checked my card after getting home, I’d been charged for three nights. When I called, they said that since I booked through Booking.com, I had to pay for services I didn’t receive. I think it’s fraud to charge for a night I didn’t stay, no matter how the reservation was made. I’ll try to dispute it with my credit card and write a review for Booking.com. Hyatt Place is blaming the third party, but I won’t stay there again and can’t recommend the hotel or Booking.com.

We had a perfect sunrise view from our room. It was very clean, and all the staff were professional and kind. We’d gladly stay here again.

It was very hot outside, but the air conditioning in my good-sized room worked well, and the clean bathroom had a nicely sized shower. The hotel was clean, had a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and prompt. One small hassle: the door lock in my first room had a dead battery, so I had to haul my luggage back to the lobby for another key. The staff gave me some food for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. The TVs didn’t support apps, something I haven’t run into in a while. I prefer streaming to cable, but that’s just my personal preference.

The staff were nice, and I picked Hyatt because I liked the room space. But the room was muggy and smelled of mildew, so everything felt damp. I nearly asked to move, but the rest of the hotel was hot too, and I didn’t expect another room to help. It looked good at first, but on closer look there were damaged areas and dirty corners, even though it was generally clean. I wouldn’t stay here again.
