Cozy Mountain Motel

These are old single wide bunk trailers made into rooms. The floors are uneven and they smell bad. The beds, linens, and bathrooms were as clean as you could possibly get in an old trailer, but the discrimination against people with disabilities tops everything else. After we booked, they emailed us about a “pet policy” that illegally denies service to people whose disabilities require a service animal. Read the negative reviews and the nasty replies from the owner before booking, and consider taking your business elsewhere.

We find the beds very comfortable, and the linens are really nice quality. The bathroom also has amazing water pressure. It’s an adorable little motel with 12 units and nicely appointed rooms.

A small room, but it was clean and newly renovated. There was a fridge, freezer, and microwave, plus a nice hot shower. I was pleasantly surprised and would stay again.

The lot is small, and it was still covered in snow when we arrived, but that’s part of the charm. Chickens were wandering around across the street. Check-in was a little unusual: you go into a small office, call a phone number, and they tell you how to get into your room. I didn’t see a motel employee the whole time I was there. The office had water and a coffee maker for the next morning, since there wasn’t one in the room. This motel was pretty great, as long as you set your expectations. You’re not staying at the Hyatt in Austin, NV. I hope you’re here for a grand romantic adventure finding America’s lost places, because this spot has that vibe.
