Candlewood Suites Oxford Anniston by IHG

The GM was so friendly and really made the place stand out. Our room was lovely and clearly cleaned thoroughly, and the amenities were wonderful. The bed was incredibly soft. We didn’t use the shower, but it looked beautiful and spacious. My only complaint was a downpour around 4 a.m. and water dripping through some pipes, which made it hard to sleep. That’s not really the hotel’s fault. If we’re back in that part of GA, we’ll definitely return.

Chesney was incredibly sweet and patient, and the service was excellent. My room was already booked when I arrived, but she helped other people before and after me while I enjoyed a good cup of coffee. She also explained what the hotel offered, and I took pictures to share. It’s right off Highway 20, set by itself with nothing on either side, so it’s quiet, with restaurants and groceries close by. There was no highway noise or sound between rooms. The hotel was very clean, with a bright parking lot, an outdoor pool, and a very nice fitness room. My room had a full kitchen I didn’t need, lots of space, and a large bathroom. The pillow-top bed was very comfortable. There are snacks and frozen foods in the lobby, and you can grill under the gazebo. It has four floors. Two thumbs way up, and I’ll certainly come back. Thank you, Chesney 😊

I had one of my worst hotel experiences here. The second-shift front desk woman was very rude and got an attitude when I came downstairs because the stove in my room was broken and wouldn’t turn off. I didn’t feel safe sleeping there, and she did nothing to help. There’s no manager at night to resolve issues. This wasn’t my first problem at this hotel: two weeks ago, my room had bugs and hair all over it. If you’re staying in Oxford, Alabama, I’d recommend another hotel. They don’t seem to appreciate your business or money. Sincerely, Eunice White

I’ve stayed in 119 hotels this year, so I have plenty to compare it with, and I’m very pleased with this stay and location. Check-in was flawless, and the woman at the counter was warm and friendly. The building was in great shape, clean throughout, and smelled amazing. My room was immaculate and cozy. They even offer guests free laundry, which is beyond amazing. The shower had strong pressure and hot water came through almost immediately. Their little sundry store has a great selection too. I highly recommend this place.
