The “Continental Breakfast” from 6 to 9 a.m. was sparse: coffee, some cereal and oatmeal, and not much else. Cleanliness was average, and the location was fairly convenient, right off the highway exit. Service was decent, but they seemed understaffed. There was often just one staff member on duty, so problems couldn’t always be addressed. Our first room wasn’t ready: the bathroom wasn’t properly set up, there was no TV remote, and several things were broken. The staff member couldn’t leave the desk, and maintenance had already gone home. She did move us to a new room, but only after we asked. Overall, a very average hotel.

The office staff were pleasant, but did as little as possible. During our three-day stay over UT graduation weekend, nobody tidied the room. The property is worn down, and our room was exceptionally dirty: thick dust on the nightstand, desk, coffee maker, phone, and every light fixture; stains in the tub; greasy handprints on the bathroom doorjamb; a broken toilet seat; and visible dirt on the carpet. Grimy is the word for it. The earlier positive reviews must be from travelers willing to sleep in squalor, or more likely from the manager’s friends. If this were the only room left in town, I’d consider sleeping in my car. Truly awful.

The beds were comfortable and clean, and the room service staff were nice. But the bathroom was nowhere near clean and needed maintenance. It shouldn’t take much, just a thorough clean and some paint. The front desk told me breakfast was basic and only offered because the hotel chain requires it.

The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows, and there was a microwave and mini fridge. But the walls and carpets were stained, and the TV picture was really grainy. I had a non-smoking room, yet I could smell smoke whenever the people next door smoked. I’d only suggest staying here if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room.
