Four Seasons Hotel Austin

The valet team were the highlight of our one night at Four Seasons Austin. They were courteous, friendly, and professional. Breakfast at Ciclo was also very good, one of the best parts of our stay, and the food and drinks at the Oak bar were great and classy. The bar was extremely understaffed, though. We waited 15 minutes, then I had to find the server to let them know. They kindly removed some items from our lunch check. The room was just okay and a little underwhelming, especially the bathroom. Reception were friendly, but wouldn’t extend checkout, so we had to ask the reservation manager, who quickly approved it. We were told the room needed to be cleaned for the next guests, but the manager said otherwise. For the price of a night here, it isn’t worth it. It felt more like a three or four star hotel than a five star one.

The location is the best in Austin, with Lady bird lake and its trails behind the hotel, and the soco bridge and heart of downtown out front. The food and service inside were wonderful, too. Caleb, the concierge, made sure the whole experience was incredible.

I had a pleasant stay. The room had a nice view, and the bottled water was good. Internet was free, and room service was great. They brought a microwave and fridge to my room to help with my diet. I was also allowed to check in five hours early, which made up for not being allowed a late checkout over a longhorn football weekend. It’s a good hotel with great rooms.

After we left the restroom, Narlin from security accused us of trespassing and told us to leave, even though we had eaten at the restaurant earlier. We showed that we had, but he walked off without apologizing. When I asked him to apologize, he said he could address us however he wanted because he was security. It was rude and unprofessional. Even trained dogs learn who to bark at. I expected better judgment and professionalism from a hotel with such a strong reputation.
