Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown

The room was spotless and lovely, and everything felt thoughtfully looked after. Check-in and the rest of the stay were easy because everyone I met at the front desk was welcoming and ready to help. The valet service also deserves a mention: Shahied made coming and going quick and simple, and was professional and genuinely helpful. I had a wonderful visit and would happily stay here again.

The carpet was one of the biggest problems: it looked dirty, and there was a huge wet-looking stain near the window that needs cleaning. The bed wasn’t comfortable, and the pillows flattened out under my head. Music from 6th was loud, though it didn’t bother me much once I went to sleep. The room itself was nice, but the air conditioning wasn’t working. It’s still fairly cool outside, but that could be a real problem during the day or in another month. The cramped bathroom smelled like old urine, and the bottom of its door was badly torn up. Being right on 6th may explain some wear, but not that smell. The valet staff were nice, though valet was expensive and the only convenient parking option. I’d only recommend staying here if you’re there to party and crash.

The location is handy for walking to things, but I won’t stay here again. The hotel is very dark, parking is valet only and costs $70 a night, and breakfast is $21 for a very limited buffet. The TV didn’t work, and the carpet left my feet black.

I was visiting a friend at the Hilton Garden Inn, and Kaleb at valet was so helpful and friendly. He took great care of my car and even suggested some good restaurants while I’m in Austin. He made me feel right at home, and I’m now thinking about moving over to the Hilton Graden because of how well he looked after my ride. Thanks, Kaleb. I’ll be back.
