I stayed two nights, and the room hadn't been properly cleaned when I arrived. There was dirt on the shower floor, a used bar of soap on the shelf, dirty glass, a loose toilet handle that was almost falling out, and things left in the drawers by a previous guest. It felt like they'd only made the bed. At checkout, two women at the desk were chatting, then acted as if serving me was a bother even after I waited patiently. They came across as rude and unprofessional. The bright spot was the night-shift employee who checked us in, a light-skinned Black woman with burgundy hair. She's always welcoming, friendly, and professional, and her excellent service is one of the reasons I've enjoyed staying here before. This visit was disappointing after good stays in the past. I hope management addresses the cleaning and service problems.
The location, price, and accommodation worked well for a short staycation. It's a typical three-star hotel, but the staff made it feel five-star: everyone I met from check-in to checkout was pleasant and attentive, and my concerns were dealt with right away. Bhoomi was especially professional and helpful. Breakfast was included, with fresh hot food and a variety for different dietary needs. On-site security put me at ease because part of the parking lot is dark. I'd stay here again. The WiFi wasn't great, especially when the hotel was close to full, but I had no other major complaints. Thanks to the Black woman who clearly knows what she's doing. She's professional and makes sure customers are recognized for their hotel status, so nobody gets overcharged for the benefits that come with it.
The room was roomy and affordable, and the staff were so enthusiastic and helpful that they more than made up for the hotel’s rough look from the road. We ended up needing a place at the last minute on a Saturday, when most hotels were booked, and this LaQuinta still had plenty of rooms. It’s in a handy, accessible spot too. The minibar area in our room could’ve been cleaned better, and the elevators felt like walking into an Escape Room movie. I’m a thrill seeker, so that gave me a quick rush, but I wouldn’t make this my first choice next time until it’s renovated. For a budget stay with phenomenal staff, though, I’d recommend it any day. Thanks to everyone at LaQuinta for the hospitality. I hope you hear every day how appreciated you are!
For a short stay, this is a comfortable, affordable choice if you want somewhere simple. It’s convenient for getting around Austin, especially by car, and the rooms have the basics, are clean, and have fairly comfortable beds. The property is dated in places, though it seems well maintained. Staff are usually polite and check-in went smoothly, but service can be less consistent when it’s busy.
The view from our room was a scatter of broken A/C units and lawnmowers, like some kind of maintenance graveyard. The pool looked neglected too and badly in need of work. Inside, everything felt worn down and dirty: peeling walls, battered furniture, filthy carpet with stains and a nasty smell, and floors sticky enough to grab your shoes. The whole place seemed like it hadn’t seen proper care in years. I’ve seen cleaner gas station bathrooms and better views behind warehouses. Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed to call it a hotel. Save yourself the regret, disappointment, and probably a tetanus shot. Stay somewhere else.
