The cabin was clean, roomy, and had a great view across the Bay. Hot water came quickly, but the supply only lasted about 8-9 minutes. For grilling, you need a propane BBQ. There’s nowhere nearby to pick up things you forgot, with no convenience store or market within 20 miles, unless you want to pay too much for souvenirs. It’s a great place to stay, just bring everything you might need.

The layout is lovely, with cabins and yurts positioned to look out over the ocean. Our RV spot was up on the hill, with a level concrete pad and an electric fireplace. The seaside views were stunning. The little gift shop is tucked away up the hill, so a more central spot would make sense. Nice seafood restaurants are only a short drive away. I’d absolutely come back.

Check-in was quick and easy, and our cabin was clean and cozy. We had a great time, with amazing views all around. You can walk into town and to the pier if you like walking; we took our electric bike everywhere instead. The golf course is close, too. Some sites book out months ahead, which says a lot about how popular it is. We had a wonderful stay.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, always greeting us and ready to sort out any problems. Our only issue was that the extra hand wash we requested for the restrooms still hadn’t arrived after 32 hours. Otherwise everything went smoothly, and we really enjoyed staying here. The walk-in tent areas have strong Wi-Fi and outlets everywhere, while the restrooms and showers are great. The gas fire pits were lovely morning and evening. I’d suggest taking tea or coffee up to the lookout around 8-9 am with a sweater, then sitting by the fire pits in the community area to play games or watch the water. They usually have green tea, and I liked adding the bee honey. There were some noisy neighbors, but quiet hours were enforced and they settled down after 10 pm.

It’s the people who make our visits to Flying Flags Avila Beach feel like coming home. Liz, Corey, Abby, Andrea, Rod, Ashley, Ben, Madeline, Sherri, Lynette, Miranda, and Jesse always go out of their way to welcome us and make everything feel just right. Liz deserves a special mention for the care and leadership she brings as Resort Manager. Our dogs, Riley and Carlos, especially love Corey, who always stops to greet them and give them a couple of treats. We’re grateful to the whole Flying Flags Avila Beach family for making every stay memorable.
