The bedbugs were the worst part. I woke up being bitten, pulled back the sheets, and found clusters of black spots and old blood all over the mattress. There was far too much blood for it to be only mine, and the stains looked old and embedded. I was shocked that anyone might have slept through that. I asked for a refund, and when they offered another room, I declined. If one room is that infested, the rest of the building could be compromised too. I told Booking.com exactly why I wanted my money back and told the front desk it was a severe bedbug infestation. I hope management has sanitized the whole property by now. I checked in late and found a room that looked unmaintained for years. The smoke detector hung precariously from the ceiling, the walls were scratched, the floor filthy, the shower moldy, and the air conditioner was missing its front panel. Other guests kept shouting and making noise, so I couldn’t rest. I only stayed to save a few bucks while passing through, and I deeply regret it.
During my move into a house, I stayed here for about two weeks. The rooms were affordable, clean, and organized, and I was comfortable the whole time. The front desk staff were professional and accommodating, and housekeeping kept me supplied with towels, toilet paper, and other basics. Five out of five.
They offered me a discounted room because the TV didn’t work, but after I paid, it turned out to be occupied, so they had to reassign me again. The business felt very unprofessional. I wasn’t rude or aggressive, yet the woman kept answering with an attitude. I usually have no problems at Motel 6, but I don’t recommend booking here. When I arrived, the staff were hostile and said my reservation had been canceled because I checked in at 3am, claiming they could cancel it. My email said I had until 4am. I’d tried calling several times during the day to say I’d arrive late, but couldn’t reach anyone. They said that when they’re busy, they won’t prioritize calls. I think they should answer, explain they’re busy, and give an approximate wait or ask the customer to hold. They blamed the trouble on my late arrival, but I couldn’t plan ahead when the business wouldn’t respond. It felt completely unfair.
I’ve stayed at plenty of Motel 6 locations for short nights and understand this isn’t a five-star hotel for the price. This one was the worst, though. The room was very dirty, with paint patches on the walls, and the cigarette smell was so strong even the sheets reeked. My hair smelled like smoke in the morning. The mattress was very old and felt like sleeping on the floor, and the pillows were bad too. Other locations at least had four pillows and decent beds. I was really disappointed.
The prices are too high for all the problems, and the owner does nothing about them. Homeless people hang around the trash cans day and night, asking for handouts and cigarettes. The ice machine is always broken, and half the time nobody is in the office. Even when someone is there, they won’t come help. Thumbs down overall.
