Super 8 by Wyndham Bakersfield/Central

The room was clean and well stocked, though old, and the AC worked well. The bed was easily the hardest one we've ever slept on. Still, for an affordable, clean room with little noise, easy freeway access, and lots of restaurants nearby, it was cool. It was the cheapest room we've had in a long time, and the woman at check-in was nice.

It's an older, tired hotel that needs renovations, which happens as places wear out and break down. I've stayed here several times over the years, and they do a good job keeping it clean. The rooms have AC and plenty of hot water. Rooms can be as cheap as $80, with a $100 deposit. For the price, it's not bad and much better than the Motel 6 across the street. You get your deposit back here, unlike at the Ramada across the street. Be warned about the Ramada, they may try to keep a cash deposit. I've never had any trouble at Super 8.

The stay at the Suoer 8 was quiet, and the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Check-in and check-out were easy. It's right across from McDonalds and easy to get on and off the freeway. Free coffee and breakfast items in the morning were helpful, and they welcome dogs too.

For what it costs, the room was adequate and the bed was fairly comfortable. It was mostly clean and I didn’t see any bugs, though the noise at night was a downside. Decent value.
