Towneplace Suites Bakersfield West

We were welcomed warmly, and the hospitality was good. Our double bedroom suite was clean and roomy for our family of three, with enough space in the living room and a separate kitchen. Even the toilet and bath area was bigger than in ordinary hotels. The location is handy, close to the big malls and Costco.

The night desk staff were the worst part. They didn’t seem interested in helping or resolving problems. When I asked for towels and water for the gym, they got annoyed and told me it wasn’t their job and that I should complain to the manager. The food was pretty bad, the facilities were old and dirty, the rooms smelled weird, and the gym was tiny.

I have Marriott ambassador status, but they still charged me a $179 early departure fee when I checked out after the first night and moved to the new Residence Inn next door. The hotel smelled like a sewer and my room was gross. Don’t stay here.

The suites at Towne Place Suites by Marriott Bakersfield West are modern and comfortable, with full kitchens that work well for longer stays, families, or business trips. The property felt clean and welcoming, and the staff were attentive. It’s conveniently located near dining options. Free breakfast and a fitness center also add good value.
