We came in January for a volleyball tournament and had a terrible stay. The roof work woke us with pounding and grinding, so sleep was rough. We also had no shower water the first day and freezing water the second. The front door was broken, the lobby was freezing, and check-in took over an hour. On top of that, we didn’t get the room we’d booked. No one ever answers the phone. The Front Desk Director, Kalin, didn’t reply to several emails or requests for a call. The front desk staff seemed so used to the problems that they didn’t care. Marriott corporate didn’t seem concerned either. After I explained the stay, they deposited an offensively low number of points for what we paid. People from our team who stayed at the Hilton next door seemed very happy, while the Marriott guests weren’t. If you need warmth, a shower, sleep, or customer service, avoid this place.

The staff made this stay an easy one, especially the front desk team. Winston, Lucy, DeAndre, and Darrell were friendly, answered our questions, offered suggestions, and always had a kind word in the lobby. The concierge and facilities staff were pleasant too. We’ll stay here again. The location was great, close to both stadiums and just blocks from the Inner Harbor. Our room was somewhat dated, though signs said upgrades were underway. It had a small fridge but no microwave. Having a coffee place, bar, and restaurant on the ground floor was convenient.

The staff are the one bright spot here. They’re doing their best with a bad situation, and I feel for them. I’ve told my employer NEVER to book us here again. We usually stay at the Waterfront or Courtyard at McHenry Row, and both are great. Marriott should sell this property if it won’t invest in it properly. It reflects badly on the brand. Check recent reviews before booking. I’m here for work, so the location doesn’t work well for me. Getting an Uber takes forever, there’s nowhere to walk for food, and there isn’t even a good breakfast spot nearby. The signs say room service starts at 6:30, but when I called, I was told 7. The app lets you order breakfast at 6:30, but somehow won’t let you order coffee until 5pm. The rooms are old and rundown, with thin, uncomfortable mattresses and shabby bathrooms. The lobby is nice, but the rooms badly need renovation. I know work is underway, but it’s too slow, and putting guests in the old rooms feels insulting. In my first room the heater was unbelievably loud. My Apple Watch measured 72 db, about the level of a vacuum cleaner, and I couldn’t sleep. The desk had it checked, confirmed the noise was abnormal, and moved me because they couldn’t fix it. The heater in the new room was quieter, but still loud at 58 decibels, about a loud conversation, and I still slept badly. That room was even more worn: carpet peeling at the edges, drawers and doors that wouldn’t close right, and a tiny TV that looked like the one in my college dorm. The mattress was just as bad as before.

Our daughter’s volleyball team played in the JVA Charm City Challenge and booked here. Because the hotel was under construction and overbooked, some parents had no room when it was time to check in. Most rooms had no hot water, and some had no heat. The rooms were very dated for the price, and two nights of overnight parking cost me $110. I’ve stayed at Holiday Inns that were much nicer. We won’t stay at a Marriott-owned hotel again.

John from security helped get my belongings back after I accidentally left a couple of things in my room, including one worth a few hundred dollars. I called the day after checkout, and he went to the room himself when he learned housekeeping hadn’t turned anything in because the room hadn’t been cleaned on checkout day. He found my items, logged them in lost and found, and explained that I needed to send a shipping label. The security team stayed helpful and communicative when I followed up, and everything arrived carefully packed within two days. Thank you, I really appreciate it. I stayed two nights for a concert at CFG Bank Arena. It was an easy walk from the hotel, and the room was nice and as expected. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
