Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel

Ron at the front desk made a great first impression. Check-in was quick, and everyone was welcoming, professional, and ready to help. The whole place felt peaceful, and the location made it easy to get around. My room was spotless and nicely decorated, with a really comfortable bed and amenities that went beyond what I expected. I appreciated the care in the details. I felt relaxed from the start and would happily recommend the hotel. Five stars, and I’ll be back.

The people here were so genuine and kind. This was my first time in Baltimore, and the warmth of the city really moved me, much like my visit to Detroit. The hotel’s location was perfect, and I felt safe with police cars often nearby. Every staff member I met was friendly and welcoming.

The stay itself was good. My room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the property had a welcoming feel. But I was troubled to hear in casual conversation that employees’ names are intentionally written with a lowercase first letter while managers’ full names are capitalized. I’m part of the hospitality community and a proud citizen, and I believe every employee deserves the same dignity and respect, whatever their position. The way a name is written can communicate how someone is valued. It’s 2026, and I hope leadership will put kindness, love, and respect at the center of its culture. I’m sharing this in hopes the right people hear it and give the matter thoughtful attention.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to CFG arena while visiting from Florida for a concert. Breakfast was a letdown: after we were seated, we waited a long time to be acknowledged, so I eventually found a manager, who gave us complimentary mimosas. The buffet food was cold, and nobody seemed concerned about keeping it hot. The staff didn’t feel very friendly, as though guests were inconveniencing them by staying. That’s not what I expect from a Marriott. If we return to Baltimore, I won’t stay here again.
