Holiday Inn Express Banning

The laundry room has no soap dispensers or change machines. Breakfast was excellent, though on the second morning they left out the sausage links. My first night the room was nice, but after I changed my mind and stayed a second night with another $100 deposit, the key wouldn't open the assigned room. They moved me to another one, where the walls seemed to be falling apart. This was my first time staying at a Holiday Inn, and so far this location is the only one I've been to that requires a $100 deposit. It's been three weeks and I still haven't got my deposits back, even though I was told 5-7 days. Still waiting.

I appreciated that someone from the front desk came up right away and asked the neighbors to quiet down after they kept slamming doors. The freeway is about five feet away, like the other hotels around here, so there was street noise. I used earplugs and my own white noise. Breakfast coffee was another hassle: the fancy machines grind and brew one cup at a time, and the line was massive. There's coffee in the room too, but still, just brew big urns so people can start the day without a wait and a confusing touchscreen. This isn't a fancy Holiday Inn.

In February 2026, I found the rooms clean, with the basic things like a fridge and microwave. The front desk was polite and professional, and breakfast is served in the morning. A real plus is the lobby machine with coffee, tea, and hot water available 24/7. Parking in front of the building is accessible. The hotel's location between the L.A. area and Palm Springs is convenient. It's next to a freeway, but I didn't notice any bothersome road noise. My checkout was delayed because the staff member was away for an extended time, which pushed back my work schedule. Still, a solid five stars for its category.

This Holiday Inn Express in Banning was very clean and quiet for my work trip. The woman at the desk was welcoming, and the lobby has great coffee and tea available around the clock. I forgot my key, but the nice front desk lady still remembered my room number 24 hours after I checked in. I was impressed with the whole stay and would definitely return. I hope everyone working here gets a hefty raise when the time comes.
