Jill handled the planning for the evening and decorated the room while we were having our ceremony. The staff also rearranged the dining room to fit our party of 30, and the wait staff were wonderful. Alondra cooked an incredible multi-course wedding reception meal: clam chowder, salad, steak and lobster, then lemon sorbet for dessert. We had the best time and can’t recommend this place, or the other StayBarHarbor properties, enough.

Bass Cottage Inn is close to the waterfront and all the bars and restaurants in Bar Harbor, and breakfast and service were great. The other guests were quiet, considerate, and nice, so overall it was a good stay. We thought we had booked Ullikana Inn, where we’d stayed and loved a few years ago, but only discovered on arrival that our place was Bass Cottage Inn next door. The room was a bit larger than the one we remembered at Ullikana and just as comfortable and nice inside. Water pressure was somewhat low, but okay. The heater, which we needed for an October night in Maine, apparently shares a unit with the A/C. It wasn’t on, and when I tried it, it didn’t work. The site manager later explained that the controller cover slides down for adjustment, but there were no clear instructions. The manager apologized, which was nice, and I suggested adding instructions for guests.

Breakfast was delicious each morning, and Bass Cottage Inn is right in the heart of Bar Harbor. I had a great two-night stay. The room was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. I’d gladly stay again and highly recommend it. Thank you, Bass Cottage Inn!

The breakfast was fantastic each morning, and Monique greeted and served us with a warm smile and a great personality. Walker’s hospitality was top-notch, and we felt like part of a temporary family. We also loved being within walking distance of downtown. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bass Cottage Inn and will definitely return on our next Bar Harbor visit.

What a view of the harbor from this lovely inn. Its location in Bar Harbor is perfect, and we could walk everywhere. Morning staff were so friendly, and Phoebe does an excellent job with a smile. Kudos to the chef and waitstaff. Every breakfast choice was delicious and excellent, though it was hard to choose between sweet and savory. We really enjoyed our stay.
