Holbrook House

We spent a lovely stay at Holbrook House in Bar Harbor, ME. The innkeepers were so helpful, sharing places to eat and sights to see, and chatting with us at breakfast. And that breakfast was outstanding, tasty and creative, with a nice range of choices. Our room was clean and well serviced throughout. We enjoyed winding down on the pretty front porch at the end of the day. The B&B is an easy walk from downtown Bar Harbor for shops, restaurants, and the harbor, and a short drive from Acadia National Park. We'd highly recommend Holbrook House.

We loved the garden and plants on the property, and the location made it easy to walk around town to everything. We had a great week in Acadia at Holbrook House. The Victoria room was cozy, clean, and comfortable, and Eric welcomed us and answered all our questions. We'll definitely stay again!

We stayed in the Sommes Sound room, which was very clean and had good facilities, including a fridge. Breakfast was cooked to order with a good selection, and coffee was available all day. Bar Harbor was about a 10-minute walk, so we could leave the car at Holbrook House. It's also a good spot for Acadia Park.

We had such a good first visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, staying at Holbrook House from September 1 - 4, 2025. Eric was an outstanding host, and the inn and grounds are beautiful. Parking in front and back made it easy to find a space. The location is about a quarter mile from main street, an easy, pleasant walk downtown or around town. The lovely homes on Mt. Desert Street make the walk enjoyable, and it's also a quick 5 to 10 minute drive to Acadia. The Compass Rose room was bright, immaculate, inviting, and very comfortable. The inn is quiet, too, so we slept well. The room felt thoughtfully put together, from its colors and furnishings to the artwork and artifacts on the walls. The bed had just the right balance of firmness and cushioning. Breakfast was excellent, with generous servings for days of walking, hiking, or biking. We had fresh fruit and a different entree each morning, including blueberry pancakes, spinach quiche, and stuffed French toast. Everything was fresh and delicious. Coffee, water, and juice were available, and we could pick the breakfast time that suited us. Fresh baked goods were out in the dining area each afternoon; I liked them all, but the blueberry lemon cake was my favorite. For early tours, a to-go breakfast bag is an option. We accidentally left a backpack behind a chair while packing. Eric called no later than 5 minutes after we left, so we were able to return for it. Thanks again, Eric! I highly recommend Holbrook House for the comfortable, beautifully appointed rooms, great breakfasts, and wonderful hosts.
