The room had a vibe I’ve never seen before, and I loved it. The atmosphere was amazing, and the bartenders and bar were just about perfect. The first thing that stood out when I arrived was the valet. He was on point, amazing, and went above and beyond to meet our needs. You have to come by, you’ll love it!

I’ve been here twice for events, though I haven’t stayed overnight. It’s a fun new hotel off MLK near the university in Fayetteville, on the same lot as Sweetgreen and Taco and Tamale. Parking was a little tricky: most spaces up front are valet, and for regular parking you have to look around back or on the side for a spot that isn’t residential or for the nearby restaurants. There’s an open outdoor seating area by the main entrance with games, lots of chairs, a big lawn, and firepits. You enter below into a casual seating area that used to be a parking garage, and the bar doubles as check-in. There’s plenty of seating, TVs, live music, games, a photo booth, drinks, and some bar snacks. Upstairs, the loft meeting space hosts events like the book swap I attended. It’s more of a small gathering room than a ballroom. I’d give it four stars as a meeting and hangout space, without rating the rooms.

I usually don’t enjoy the European style of stay that Moxy hotels are known for, but I love the Moxy Fayetteville location. The rooms are quite small, though it didn’t bother me since I spent all night in the lobby. Kendall, Arthur, and the other bar staff made me feel like family, and the bartenders and front desk team were so kind, friendly, and capable. Kendall especially turned my trip around. I was initially frustrated that parking was valet only and added another expense, but Chase and the rest of the valet staff were so attentive and friendly that it felt well worth it for the security and convenience. The service and care here are top notch. I’ll stay again the next time I visit Fayetteville!

There’s loads of shared space downstairs, and the lobby bar doubles as both a gathering spot and the check-in area. The hotel has a quirky European feel that isn’t the usual setup we’re used to. Our room reminded me of a big camper, but it was luxurious in a minimalist way, with plenty of whimsical decor. We had a fun stay, and it was convenient to where we needed to be. We’ll definitely come back.

Being close to the college campus is the best thing about this hotel. If it weren’t for the women at the bar, I would have cancelled my reservation. The room was dusty, cramped, and had very dirty windows, and the toilet ran all night. There was no ice machine or in-room fridge, and the only toiletries were cheap razors, toothbrushes that looked like jailhouse ones, and toothpaste packets. I didn’t get an urgent response when I needed help. The housekeepers walked the halls talking loudly and swearing, which made me uncomfortable. I also saw a couple who I assume worked there flirting and all over each other near a room. They both looked scared when they noticed me. Staff were in street clothes, so it was hard to tell who worked there, and it didn’t look professional. Marriott is really going downhill. I’m an elite member, and I would gladly have spent my money and points with another company.
